Job summary

Alstom in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a full-time on-site Recovery Technician to join our rail maintenance team. You will apply mechanical and electro-mechanical expertise to ensure the reliability and safety of commuter services by performing preventive and corrective maintenance on vehicles and wayside equipment, including visual inspections and troubleshooting.

Qualifications

  • Degree in mechanical, electrical, or a related technical field or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with maintenance and troubleshooting of electro-mechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with industrial safety protocols and procedures.
  • Knowledge of general hand tools and their proper usage.
  • Ability to work in a 24-hour shift environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and emergencies.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and obtaining required certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Perform train and system recoveries of failed equipment to ensure operational readiness.
  • Conduct visual inspections and maintenance of electro-mechanical components such as brakes, HVAC, and doors.
  • Carry out light preventive and corrective maintenance on vehicles and wayside equipment.
  • Review safety instructions and standards to ensure compliance and minimize risks.
  • Record maintenance activities and complete work orders accurately.
  • Manually drive trains to ensure revenue service readiness.
  • Respond to emergencies and handle failures per established protocols.
  • Participate in ongoing safety training and skill development.
