Job summary

Alstom in Phoenix, AZ seeks a full-time Recovery Technician to perform mechanical/electrical maintenance on trains and wayside equipment. You will inspect systems, troubleshoot electro-mechanical components, and ensure trains are serviceable for revenue operations.

You will work with supervisors, maintenance crews, and safety officers, with responsibilities including manual train driving, recording activities, and responding promptly to emergencies while following established procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience or understanding of maintenance and troubleshooting of mechanical and electro-mechanical systems.
• Familiarity with safety protocols and procedures in industrial or maintenance environments.

Responsibilities

• Performing train and system recoveries of failed equipment to ensure operational readiness.
• Performing visual inspections and maintenance of electro-mechanical components, such as brakes, air compressors, couplers, doors, HVAC, and auxiliary power systems.
• Conducting “light” preventive and corrective maintenance on vehicles and wayside equipment.
• Reviewing and adhering to safety instructions, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance and minimize risks.
• Making recommendations for hardware and procedural improvements identified during maintenance or troubleshooting.
• Responding to emergencies and handling failures promptly and in alignment with established protocols.
• Manually driving trains and ensuring all trains entering revenue service are fully serviceable.
• Recording all maintenance activities and relevant information on appropriate work orders/forms.
• Participating in regular training to maintain and enhance technical skills and knowledge.
• Following all Alstom security and safety instructions to ensure personal safety and the reliability of the fleet.
