Job summary

University of Chicago Medicine in the Chicagoland area seeks a Radiology Technologist to perform diagnostic imaging with attention to radiation safety and patient care. This 100% onsite role is based in the Radiology Department, Hyde Park, with rotating shifts and on-call responsibilities.

The ideal candidate has ARRT certification, AMA-approved radiologic technology training, and an active IEMA license, with strong customer-service and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Requires associate degree or equivalent in a related medical field.
• Completion of AMA approved radiologic technology program.
• ARRT certification within 12 months of hire and IEMA license.
• CPR certification and ongoing continuing education as mandated.

Responsibilities

• Review physician orders for exam appropriateness.
• Select exposure factors based on body part, pathology, age, and equipment.
• Review images for positioning, technique and ID.
• Perform general diagnostic studies with quality and proper protocol.
• Prepare contrast media and assist GI/GU studies.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and confidentiality.
• Communicate professionally with patients, staff and visitors.
• Maintain equipment and safety standards; participate in training.
• Enter data into PACS and RIS; support workflows; assist trainees.
• Rotating on-call, weekends and holidays as required.
