The University of Chicago Medicine invites applications for a part-time Radiology Technologist in the Pediatric Radiology Department, based in the Hyde Park campus. You will perform diagnostic imaging, adhere to radiation safety, and provide patient-centered care under physician supervision in a fast-paced academic health system.

This onsite role requires ARRT certification, IEMA license, and completion of an AMA-approved radiologic technology program, with CPR.

Formación

• Associates degree in a related medical field.
• Satisfactory completion of formal Radiologic technology training in an AMA approved program.
• Certified by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists within one year of hire.
• Licensed by the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA).
• Demonstrates proficiency in performing diagnostic imaging.
• Maintains required continuing education as mandated by ARRT.
• CPR certification.

Responsabilidades

• Reviews physician orders for appropriateness of examination.
• Selects exposure factors based on patient age and body part.
• Reviews images for positioning, technique and identification.
• Performs general diagnostic studies with proper protocol and evaluates images.
• Prepares contrast media and assists GI/GU studies.
• Maintains confidentiality per HIPAA and regulations.
• Interfaces with patients, families, staff in a professional manner.
• Maintains data in PACS and RIS; trains new technologists and students.
• Rotating on-call duties, weekends and holidays.
