Job summary

University of Chicago Medicine seeks a Radiology Technologist in the Pediatric Radiology Department for a 100% onsite role in Hyde Park. You will perform diagnostic imaging, apply radiation protection principles, and provide patient care under physician guidance.

The ideal candidate will hold an AMA-approved radiologic technology program, ARRT certification within 1 year, IEMA licensure, CPR, and strong customer service skills. This is a 0.1 FTE registry position with rotating shifts.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in related medical field or equivalent experience.
• Successful completion of AMA-approved radiologic technology program.
• Registration by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within one year of hire.
• Illinois licensure by IEMA.
• CPR certification.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Review physician orders for appropriateness.
• Select exposure factors based on body part, age, and equipment.
• Ensure correct patient positioning and identification in images.
• Perform a variety of general diagnostic studies with quality and efficiency.
• Prepare and assist with contrast media and GI/GU procedures.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and document accurately.
• Interface professionally with patients, families, and staff.
• Maintain equipment and report malfunctions; support training of new staff and students.
• Rotate on-call, weekends, and holidays as required.
