Job summary

Kokosing is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to work onsite with the project team on industrial construction projects, primarily Water/Wastewater facilities, in the DC metro area. You will plan, coordinate, and manage engineering activities, ensuring schedule alignment and contract compliance.

The role requires a Civil Engineering or Construction Management background with 5+ years in heavy industrial construction, strong communication, and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent.
• 5+ years of heavy industrial construction engineering experience.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, coordinate and manage onsite construction engineering activities.
• Ensure activities comply with requirements and support project schedule.
• Provide technical support for planning, design interpretation, and method application.
• Administer submittals, RFIs, and vendor/payable processes.
• Represent the project in meetings with clients and A/E teams.
• Interface with on-site departments to resolve issues and maintain schedule.
• Oversee pre-construction services, design-build, and business development.
• Assist in cost control, budgeting, and cash flow projections.
• Approve subcontractor requisitions and change orders; manage documentation.
