Job summary

Acloché LLC is seeking a Project Engineer in Boonton, NJ to own engineered water and wastewater equipment projects from order receipt through shipment, with hands-on coordination in our fabrication shop and occasional site work.

The role requires managing schedules, submittals, documentation, and customer conversations, collaborating across sales, engineering, purchasing, and production to meet time and budget goals in a fully onsite environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 4+ years in project engineering within manufacturing, water or public works.
• Hands-on ownership of engineered equipment projects end-to-end.
• Strong reading of fabrication drawings and mechanical aptitude.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with external stakeholders.
• Onsite in northern New Jersey, local candidate; no relocation.

Responsibilities

• Manage engineered equipment projects from order receipt through shipment, holding schedule and budget.
• Serve as the customer-facing engineer on each project, working directly with consulting engineers, contractors, municipalities, and end users.
• Prepare and manage submittal packages, O&M documentation, project schedules, and internal coordination across sales, engineering, purchasing, and production.
• Work public works requirements: specifications, prevailing wage, compliance, and approvals.
• Coordinate daily with the in-house fabrication shop and outside fabricators on drawings, build sequencing, and equipment inspections.
• Review drawings and designs for fit, function, and manufacturability before they reach the shop.
• Participate in weekly project engineering and fabrication meetings to keep the backlog moving.
