Top Echelon Software, LLC is seeking a Project Engineer in Boonton, NJ, onsite. The role spans from order receipt to shipment, balancing schedule, budget, submittals, and customer conversations across the shop floor and fabrication shop.

The engineer leads projects with strong communication to consultants, contractors, municipalities, and end users, owning the process end to end and coordinating with purchasing, sales, and production teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline.
• 4+ years of project engineering experience in manufacturing, water/wastewater, or public works.
• Owns engineered equipment projects end to end including fabrication.
• Strong ability to read and review fabrication drawings.
• Highly organized with excellent written and verbal communication with external stakeholders.
• Local to northern New Jersey and able to work fully onsite.

Responsibilities

• Manage engineered equipment projects from order receipt through shipment, keeping schedule and budget.
• Serve as customer-facing engineer, coordinating with engineers, contractors, municipalities, and end users.
• Prepare and manage submittal packages, O&M docs, project schedules, and cross-functional coordination.
• Work with public works requirements: specs, prevailing wage, compliance, approvals.
• Coordinate daily with in-house fabrication shop and outside fabricators on drawings and sequencing.
• Review drawings for fit, function, and manufacturability before shop release.
• Participate in weekly project engineering and fabrication meetings to move backlog.
