Job summary

Water & Wastewater Equipment in Boonton, NJ, is seeking a Project Engineer to own engineered equipment projects from order receipt to shipment. The role blends office work, fabrication shop coordination, and occasional customer site visits.

You will serve as the customer-facing engineer, manage submittals and documentation, and coordinate with sales, engineering, purchasing, and production to meet schedules and budgets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline.
• 4+ years of project engineering experience in manufacturing, water and wastewater, or public works.

Responsibilities

• Own engineered equipment projects from order receipt through shipment, managing schedule and budget.
• Serve as customer-facing engineer on projects with consulting engineers, contractors, municipalities, and end users.
• Prepare submittal packages, O&M documentation, project schedules, and cross-functional coordination.
• Work with public works requirements: specifications, prevailing wage, compliance, and approvals.
• Coordinate daily with fabrication shop and outside fabricators on drawings, build sequencing, and inspections.
• Review drawings and designs for fit, function, and manufacturability before the shop.
• Participate in weekly project engineering and fabrication meetings to keep backlog moving.
