Job summary

RON SUNSHINE ASSOCIATES LLC in Boonton, NJ is seeking a Project Engineer to own engineered equipment projects from order receipt through shipment. The role splits time between the office, local fabrication shop, and occasional customer sites, with a strong ownership focus.

You will lead schedules, submittals, and customer conversations while coordinating with sales, engineering, purchasing, and production to deliver on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 4+ years of project engineering experience in manufacturing or water/wastewater.
• Onsite/local to northern NJ; ability to work on-site; no relocation.

Responsibilities

• Manage engineered equipment projects from order receipt through shipment, keeping schedule and budget.
• Serve as the customer-facing engineer on each project with stakeholders.
• Prepare and manage submittal packages, O&M docs, schedules, and cross-functional coordination.
• Work with public works requirements: specs, prevailing wage, compliance, and approvals.
• Coordinate with fabrication shop and external fabricators on drawings and inspections.
• Review drawings for fit, manufacturability before shop.
• Participate in weekly project engineering and fabrication meetings to move backlog.
