Job summary

Accounting Search is seeking a Project Engineer for a northern New Jersey manufacturer of water and wastewater equipment in Boonton. The role blends office work, fabrication shop coordination, and occasional customer-site visits to own projects end-to-end from order receipt to shipment.

You will manage schedules, submittals, and documentation while coordinating with sales, engineering, purchasing, and production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 4+ years of project engineering experience in manufacturing or water/wastewater.
• Hands-on experience owning engineered equipment projects end to end.
• Strong ability to read and review fabrication drawings.
• Highly organized with strong written and verbal communication with external stakeholders.
• Local to northern New Jersey and able to work fully onsite; no relocation assistance.

Responsibilities

• Manage engineered equipment projects from order receipt through shipment, controlling schedule and budget.
• Serve as the customer-facing engineer on each project.
• Prepare and manage submittal packages, O&M documentation, project schedules, and internal coordination.
• Work with public works requirements: specifications, prevailing wage, compliance, and approvals.
• Coordinate daily with fabrication shop and outside fabricators on drawings and build sequencing.
• Review drawings for fit, function, and manufacturability.
• Participate in weekly project engineering and fabrication meetings to keep backlog moving.
