Job summary

COMPA is seeking a Construction Engineer 1 in Los Alamos, NM for 100% onsite work. The role pays $40.00–$47.00 hourly and requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a DOE Q Clearance.

A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (ABET‑accredited) or equivalent field experience is required. You will support LANL infrastructure and nuclear facility installation projects, work with senior engineers, perform inspections, verify drawings and specs, and participate in safety and quality meetings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field required.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).

Responsibilities

• Support field construction activities through inspections, documentation, and reporting
• Apply standard engineering techniques and established processes to project execution
• Verify work conforms with approved drawings, standards, and specifications
• Support problem‑solving efforts with field teams and design engineers
• Participate in safety and quality meetings; assist with material verification and status tracking
