Job summary

Hoffman Construction Co of America is seeking a Project Engineer Intern to assist the project team on-site in Lake Oswego, Oregon. The role supports site logistics, inspections, scheduling, BIM/VDC, safety, and document control from preconstruction through closeout.

This is a 20-hour-per-week position during the school year. The candidate will work with the project team to schedule hours and gain hands-on experience in civil construction practices, coordination with subcontractors, and field

Qualifications

• Education: BS in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or equivalent.
• Experience with organizing technical data in a neat and accurate method.
• Familiar with CSI specification system for construction.
• Ability to work closely with trade and craft people in field work situations.
• Patience, professionalism and cooperative attitude under pressure.
• Proficient in MS Windows and MS Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Interpretation of blueprint construction drawings and technical manuals.
• Writing and publishing meeting minutes, schedule graphs and activity checklists.
• Managing information requests and change documents issued by other offices.
• Organization and filing of record documents.
• Field surveying and layout of control lines and benchmarks.
• Information storage and retrieval using computers.
• Technical advisor at onsite field construction office.
• Access all areas and levels of construction site for progress review.
• Clear communication in speech, handwriting and computer formatting.
