Job summary

Hoffman Construction Co of America is seeking a Project Engineer Intern to support the project team on site. The role involves coordinating site logistics, subcontractors, field inspections, and document control with about 20 hours per week during the school year.

Responsibilities include interpreting drawings, reporting meeting minutes, RFI handling, field surveying, and providing on-site technical guidance. Strong organizational and communication skills required.

Qualifications

• Education in construction-related disciplines or equivalent work experience.
• Organizing technical data in a neat and accurate way.
• Familiarity with CSI specification systems for construction.
• Ability to collaborate with trade personnel in field work.
• Professional attitude under pressure and cooperative mindset.
• Capable of handling multiple tasks with interruptions.
• Training in design document reading and survey theory.
• Strong visual observation and interpretation skills.
• Proficiency with Windows and Office tools including Bluebeam.
• Experience with scheduling software such as Suretrack or Primavera P6 and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate site logistics, subcontractors, and field inspections.
• Assist with quality control, scheduling, and document control.
• Process RFIs and change documents issued by offices.
• Organize and file record documents for projects.
• Conduct field surveying and layout of control lines.
• Store and retrieve information using computers.
• Provide technical guidance at the onsite field office.
• Communicate clearly in speech and writing, respond to requests.
• Move documents and survey equipment up to 40 pounds.
• Support project team from preconstruction through closeout.
