Job summary

Hensel Phelps is seeking a Project Engineer to manage on-site project administration and supervise office engineers and the jobsite administrator. You will be responsible for project finances, scheduling, and coordinating with owners, suppliers, and trade partners.

The role requires attention to detail, experience on large commercial construction projects, and proficiency with project management tools. Excellent communication and leadership are essential in this employee-owned company.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills are essential.
• Microsoft Office Suite, Primavera, Prolog and AutoDesk Suite proficiency requested.
• 4-year degree in civil/structural eng, architecture, or construction management is required.
• Past internships in the construction industry are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the project manager and superintendents: prepare monthly owner pay applications.
• Identify and resolve interface conflicts with trade partners.
• Support interpretation of drawings, specifications, RFIs, and questions for the architect/engineer.
• Develop and manage cost control and labor recap with PM and superintendent.
• Process and estimate change orders and RFIs.
• Assist in development and management of the project schedule.
• Assist with engineering details and special design.
• Track and report project progress.
• Support production analysis studies.
• Coordinate materials and field purchases.
• Lead weekly owner/architect/contractor meetings and document minutes.
• Contribute to monthly margin analysis.
