Job summary

Hensel Phelps is seeking a Project Engineer for an on-site role to manage project administration, supervision coordination, and financials for large commercial construction projects. The PE will oversee office engineers and the jobsite administrator, interfacing with owners, suppliers, and trade partners to resolve disputes and manage changes.

Qualifications

• A 4-year degree in civil or structural engineering, architecture, or construction management.
• Minimum of 2–4 years’ experience on large commercial construction projects; valid driver’s license.
• Strong communication skills; proficient with project management software.

Responsibilities

• Assist the project manager and superintendents with monthly owner pay applications.
• Resolve interface conflicts between the company and trade partners.
• Assist field supervisors with drawings, RFIs, and questions for the architect/engineer.
• Develop and manage cost control and labor recap with project team.
• Process and estimate potential change orders and RFIs.
• Assist in developing and managing the project schedule.
• Track and report project progress; assist in margins analysis.
