Job summary

General Motors Corporation is seeking a Process Engineer for our Romulus Propulsion Systems site. The role focuses on applying GMS principles to optimize manufacturing processes, reduce waste, and drive continuous improvement across operations.

You will conduct process analyses, manage process uptime and cycle times, and collaborate with cross-functional teams in a unionized plant environment. A Bachelor's in engineering and lean/manufacturing experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
• 2 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience planning and executing automation.
• Lean manufacturing experience.
• Experience leading PFMEA activities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Apply GMS principles to reduce waste, standardize processes, and improve efficiency.
• Conduct process analyses including PFMEA, cycle time studies, and bottleneck identification.
• Manage and improve existing processes; implement new manufacturing processes, equipment, and tooling.
• Collaborate with production, quality, and maintenance to resolve issues in a unionized environment.
• Prepare detailed analyses related to manufacturing processes and projects.
