Job summary

The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking a Planner & Scheduler to support facility maintenance operations across plumbing and utility systems within a complex healthcare environment.

The role emphasizes detailed work planning, scheduling, backlog management, CMMS administration, and coordination with trades, vendors, and internal customers to ensure safe, timely, and reliable infrastructure for patient care and research operations.

Qualifications

• Experience with planning, coordinating, and scheduling work for maintenance teams.
• Strong knowledge of plumbing and utility systems in large facilities.
• Experience reading technical drawings and vendor coordination capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Scoping & Planning: Administer work orders through CMMS and prioritize by urgency.
• Interview clients within two business days to develop detailed scopes.
• Estimate labor hours, manpower, parts, and tools with craft technicians.
• Verify parts availability and obtain quotes from vendors/contractors.
• Coordinate materials, equipment, and resources for scheduled activities.
• Maintain communication on schedule execution, backlog, and status with stakeholders.
