Job summary

The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking a Manager, Operations & Maintenance to oversee Physical Plant operations across its facilities, ensuring safe, reliable, and compliant infrastructure that supports patient care, research, and education.

The role leads facilities personnel, manages budgets and contracts, and drives maintenance, capital projects, emergency response, and regulatory compliance to achieve institutional objectives while fostering safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, business, healthcare administration or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in operations and management of a physical plant, including 3 years supervisory experience.
• CFM and/or CETA certification preferred; Six Sigma/Lean certifications may substitute for experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and direct all Physical Plant functions and personnel.
• Manage departmental budgets and inventory control procedures.
• Direct repair and maintenance of facilities and grounds; oversee utilities distribution and renovations.
• Develop and implement workflow processes to improve operational and financial efficiencies.
