Job summary

H-J Family of Companies is seeking a PLC Controls Engineer for the St. Louis area to design, integrate, and troubleshoot electrical control systems on the plant floor. You will develop software, implement data acquisition, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize production.

The role requires 5+ years of PLC/HMI experience and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent). On-site work in Missouri with strong teamwork and problem-solving skills is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years PLC/HMI programming experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Excellent communication and cross-team collaboration skills.

• Methodical, detail-oriented, and able to multitask effectively.
• Able to thrive in a team environment with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Lead the integration of new processes and equipment, including software development from ground up.
• Design and implement data acquisition systems to display plant-floor data for production and management.
• Work with PLCs, HMIs, vision systems, and robotics (Control Logix, P3000, Fanuc, Ignition, PanelView, Wonderware, Cognex, Keyence).
• Troubleshoot shop-floor equipment including automated lines, CNC machines, vision systems, robotics, and plating systems.
• Develop BOMs and electrical schematics for control systems.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
