Job summary

Independent Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support the pharmacy department under a licensed pharmacist. This onsite role requires handling medication preparation, packaging, labeling, and shipping, with shifts including evenings and a qualifying shift differential for second shift.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, 1 year in a high-volume pharmacy, and preferably a CPhT certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) preferred.
• One year of experience in a high-volume pharmacy or equivalent setting required.
• Ability to lift 40lbs.
• Experience with online claims processing system preferred.
• Effective oral and written communication skills and aptitude for working with other health care professionals.

Responsibilities

• Under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, assist in activities not requiring professional judgment.
• Maintain patient records.
• Set up, package, and label medication doses.
• Process equipment and supply orders, and prepare sterile products.
• Package and ship medications.
• Set up and optimize delivery routes.
• Maintain knowledge of pharmaceutical safety hazards and drug handling.
• Notify Pharmacist staff of dispensing, storage, packaging, and related issues.
• Rotate stock and ensure space cleanliness.
• Follow standard procedures with approvals for deviations.
