Job summary

Independent Health Association in Buffalo, NY is hiring a Pharmacy Technician who will assist under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist in the pharmacy department's day-to-day operations. This onsite role requires rotating first and second shifts with at least two closing shifts weekly.

You will set up, package, and label doses, maintain patient records, and help with delivery routes, shipping, and equipment orders.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; CPhT preferred.
• One year experience in high-volume pharmacy or equivalent.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Experience with online claims processing system preferred.
• Effective oral and written communication skills; aptitude for working with health care professionals.

Responsibilities

• Assist in pharmacy department activities not requiring pharmacist judgment under supervision.
• Maintain patient records.
• Set up, package, and label medication doses.
• Process equipment and supply orders; prepare sterile products.
• Package and ship medications.
• Set up and optimize delivery routes.
• Maintain knowledge of pharmaceutical safety hazards.
• Notify staff of dispensing, storage, packaging issues.
• Rotate stock and related supplies.
• Maintain cleanliness of the space.
• Follow standard procedures; deviations require supervising pharmacist approval.
