Job summary

APi HVAC Services Inc, powered by APi Group, is growing and seeking a Payroll Administration Specialist to join the Payroll team onsite at the NAC office in Vadnais Heights, MN. The role processes weekly payroll for staff, both union and non‑union, within the HVAC Shared Services umbrella that covers five operating companies.

You will use Excel to export data for 401k submissions, Union Reports, and Certified Payroll Reports, manage payroll taxes, and respond to verifications.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years minimum in-house payroll processing experience.
• Construction union payroll experience is highly preferred but not required.
• Organized and efficient.
• Customer service oriented.
• Adaptable to ad hoc requests.
• Highly proficient in Excel.

Responsibilities

• Process weekly in-house payroll for all staff, union and non-union.
• Export data with Excel to prepare 401k submissions, Union Reports, and Certified Payroll Reports.
• Handle federal and state payroll taxes (weekly, monthly, quarterly).
• Maintain earnings withholding orders and wage assignments.
• Respond to employment verifications.
• Process terminations and union layoffs ensuring timely payments.
• Prepare annual Prevailing Wage information for MN DOLI and file.
• Update wage rates and fringe benefits for each union yearly.
