Job summary

APi HVAC Services, part of APi Group, seeks an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our shared services team in a fast-paced environment. The role requires 2–5 years of AP experience, sharp attention to detail, and strong communication to support project accounting and vendor interactions.

The position is based in Wisconsin, not remote, with responsibilities spanning invoice processing, PO matching, tax accruals, and reimbursement handling.

Responsibilities

APi HVAC Services, powered by APi Group, is looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our growing shared services team. A successful Accounts Payable Specialist has a passion for accounting and a strong attention to detail in their everyday work and tasks. In addition, the incumbent must have the versatility to excel at all levels of work – from the mundane to the pivotal.

Shared Services

The APi HVAC Shared Services team supports 5 separate operating companies of APi Group; Metropolitan Mechanical Contractors (MN), Merit Contracting (MN), NAC Mechanical & Electrical Services (MN), Grunau (WI) and Tessier’s (SD). Preference for location is at either MMC, based in Eden Prairie, MN, or at Grunau, based in Oak Creek, WI. This is not a remote role.

Role Responsibilities

• Review, post, and scan invoices related to projects
• Ensure proper use tax is accrued on the invoices
• Review to confirm a 2-way match with the Purchase Order and Invoice
• Investigate and resolve situations where the invoice exceeds the Purchase Order
• Enter Purchase Orders
• Statement reviews
• Process and maintain Vendor Statements
• Administer the filings process for City Licenses
• Execute administrative tasks including but not limited to filing, scanning, answering phones as needed, and serving as a back-up for the receptionist.
• Handle employee reimbursements
• Provide support for the Project Accountant team, as necessary
• Daily internal and external customer communication via phone and email.

Qualifications and Experience

• AP experience required; 2 to 5 years of AP experience preferred.
• Strong problem solving & solutions focus
• Flexible with ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines and changing priorities
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, set priorities, and see projects through completion.

Pay Range

$26.40 to $31.25 hourly base wage plus incentive
