Job summary

Southern Management seeks a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to support payroll processing, compliance, and customer service in our HR team. The role involves tracking hours, processing bi-weekly payroll, and maintaining accurate records in ADP Work Force Now and ADP Time & Attendance.

You will work in person in McLean, VA, report to the payroll manager, and help with terminations, new hires, transfers, W-2s, bonuses, and year-end reconciliations while ensuring confidentiality and compliance

Qualifications

• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Able to work independently and in a team environment.
• Proficient in data entry, Excel, and MS Office.
• Thorough understanding of payroll policies and regulations (federal/state/local).
• Able to support all payroll functions and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Assist bi-weekly payroll processing and terminations.
• Handle leave processing and payroll information inquiries.
• Maintain payroll records and update exemptions, deductions, and job changes.
• Assist with W-2s, paystubs, and year-end reconciliation.
• Provide ADP training for managers and support payroll reporting.
• Monitor timekeeping systems for accuracy and update HR records.
• Process new hires, rehires, and internal transfers from Recruitment to ADP.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state payroll tax requirements.
