Job summary

Southern Management is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to support payroll processing, compliance and customer service. This in-person role is based in McLean, VA and requires handling bi-weekly payroll, timekeeping, and data accuracy with confidentiality.

You will assist the payroll manager, maintain records in ADP Time & Attendance, and provide wage statements while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax requirements. CPP preferred; 4+ years experience.

Qualifications

• HS diploma; degree in Accounting or related field preferred or combination of education and experience.
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification preferred.
• Minimum of 4+ years of experience with electronic payroll processing and timekeeping.
• Experience handling payroll within federal, state, and local regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist bi-weekly payroll process.
• Process terminations and leave.
• Provide payroll information and answer questions.
• Maintain payroll records and update exemptions, deductions, and titles.
• Run payroll reports and monitor timekeeping accuracy.
• Assist with W2 and paystub distribution.
• Support year-end payroll account reconciliation.
• Provide ADP training for managers.
