Creative Financial Staffing, LLC seeks a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our La Porte, Indiana team. This onsite role handles union and non-union payroll across multiple states, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time while complying with payroll regulations.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of payroll experience, strong data accuracy, and excellent communication with HR, managers, and staff.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of payroll experience, preferably multi-state.
• Experience processing both union and non-union payroll.
• Strong payroll knowledge including wage calculations, deductions, and compliance.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication across all levels of the organization.
• Proficiency with Excel and payroll/HRIS systems.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsabilités

• Process weekly, biweekly, or other scheduled payrolls for union and non-union employees across multiple states.
• Accurately calculate regular hours, overtime, differentials, bonuses, deductions, garnishments, benefits, and other payroll adjustments.
• Ensure payroll is processed accurately and within deadlines with high attention to detail.
• Interpret and apply union agreements, wage requirements and payroll rules.
• Maintain accurate payroll records and reconcile data to resolve discrepancies.
• Coordinate with HR, Accounting, managers, and employees to resolve payroll questions.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll requirements across states.
• Research and resolve payroll discrepancies while maintaining confidentiality.
• Assist with payroll reporting, audits, year-end activities, W-2s, and related projects.
• Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, accuracy and efficiency.
