Job summary

The Birner Group in Earth City, MO is seeking a Payroll Coordinator to join our onsite team. This role supports payroll operations for approximately 850 employees across six EINs, acting as a key connection between HR, Finance, and employees.

Responsibilities include bi-weekly payroll processing, timekeeping verification, commission/bonus calculations, Paycor data maintenance, discrepancy resolution, and answering payroll inquiries while ensuring compliance across states and remote employees.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of payroll experience.
• Experience with Paycor or Paychex preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Experience supporting multi-state and remote payroll processing.
• Strong communication with HR, Finance, managers, and employees.

Responsibilities

• Support the bi-weekly payroll process, ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing.
• Verify timekeeping records and ensure employees and managers approve time before payroll is processed.
• Prepare commission and bonus calculations for multiple departments.
• Assist with maintaining employee information in Paycor, including tax details, benefits deductions, and leave balances.
• Research and resolve payroll discrepancies, including overpayments, underpayments, and missing information.
• Respond to employee payroll inquiries and provide guidance regarding pay, deductions, benefits, and leave balances.
• Support payroll compliance efforts, including multi-state payroll requirements.
