Job summary

The Birner Group in Earth City, MO is seeking a Payroll Coordinator to support payroll operations for about 850 employees across six EINs. This onsite role links HR, Finance, and staff to ensure accurate, on-time pay and regulatory compliance.

You will verify timekeeping, prepare commissions/bonuses, and maintain Paycor records while assisting with multi-state payroll and inquiries from staff and managers. Join a team focused on accuracy and employee service.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of payroll experience required.
• Experience with Paycor or Paychex preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Experience with multi-state and remote payroll processing.
• Ability to collaborate with HR, Finance, managers, and employees.

Responsibilities

• Support the bi-weekly payroll process with timely, accurate processing.
• Verify timekeeping records and approvals before payroll is processed.
• Prepare commission and bonus calculations for multiple departments.
• Maintain employee information in Paycor, including tax details, benefits deductions, and leave balances.
• Research and resolve payroll discrepancies, including overpayments, underpayments, and missing information.
• Respond to employee payroll inquiries and provide guidance regarding pay, deductions, benefits, and leave balances.
• Support payroll compliance efforts, including multi-state payroll requirements.
