Job summary

Staff Accountant/Payroll Specialist in Burlington Township, NJ, onsite with a growing nonprofit client, will own biweekly payroll for 300+ employees and support core accounting tasks including reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close, audits, and financial reporting.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and 3–5 years of accounting and payroll experience, with Paycom or another payroll/HRIS platform experience preferred. 100% onsite in New Jersey.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
• 3–5 years of accounting and payroll experience.
• Experience processing payroll for a mid-sized or large organization.
• Paycom or another payroll/HRIS platform experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Process accurate and timely biweekly payroll for 300+ employees.
• Review timesheets, overtime, deductions, PTO, allocations and payroll changes.
• Research and resolve payroll discrepancies and adjustments.
• Prepare payroll journal entries and reconcile payroll-related accounts.
• Reconcile payroll taxes, benefits, garnishments, and other liabilities.
• Assist with month-end/year-end close and audit preparation.
• Prepare account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reports.
• Support payroll and accounting system processes and improvements.
