Job summary

Optum is seeking a Customer Service Representative to support patient calls and care team coordination onsite at 28 Newton Street, Southborough, MA. The role emphasizes strong communication, problem-solving, and adherence to established processes within a busy health services environment.

Training is provided onsite; the position runs Monday through Friday during standard business hours, with possible overtime.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma / GED OR equivalent work experience.
• 1+ years of customer service experience.
• Must live within a commutable distance to Southborough, MA.
• Ability to work full-time, Monday - Friday during 8:00 am - 5:00 pm; occasional overtime may be required.

Responsibilities

• Handle high-volume calls for a defined region/dept with standard productivity metrics.
• Screen inquiries to determine appropriate handling or routing to care team members.
• Document call details in the electronic medical record and update patient information as needed.
• Deescalate upset patients and provide options to resolve issues and improve satisfaction.
• Attend meetings and collaborate with team to improve workflows and service quality.
