Job summary

UChicago Medicine is seeking a Patient Procedure Scheduler for the DCAM - Hyde Park clinic in the Urology department. This 100% onsite role requires coordinating surgeries, appointments and equipment, while working closely with physicians and staff to ensure timely and efficient patient care.

The ideal candidate has experience with Epic-OP Time, strong medical terminology knowledge, and excellent communication skills to manage patient inquiries and scheduling needs.

Qualifications

• Experience in Epic-OP Time (Epic operating room scheduling module).
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Effective communication with patients, physicians and staff.
• Ability to balance multiple priorities and handle challenging situations.
• High School Diploma required.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Ability to use personal computers and scheduling software.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with physicians and staff to schedule surgeries in Op Time.
• Coordinate pre- and post-surgical appointments with patients and departments.
• Schedule procedures based on approved guidelines and protocols.
• Enter procedure details and update physicians on schedules.
• Coordinate schedules with time and equipment availability; resolve conflicts.
• Inform patients of schedule changes and provide instructions.
