Job summary

UChicago Medicine is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Urology team at the DCAM - Hyde Park clinic. This 100% onsite role requires a Chicagoland resident.

The MA will work under RN/APN/Physician supervision, performing clinical and administrative tasks including vaccines, EKGs, vital signs, and patient records management. Essential duties include direct patient care, documentation, phlebotomy, specimen collection, and coordination with the healthcare team.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Current CPR certification.
• Phlebotomy experience required.
• Experience in a community health setting.
• Completion of a CMA program recognized by AHA or ARC.
• Graduate of CMA program (CMA credential).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under RN/physician as assigned.
• Obtain and record vital signs.
• Perform tests such as pregnancy tests, urinalysis, and hemoccults.
• Document all aspects of patient care per hospital policies.
• Perform phlebotomy and assist with specimen collection.
• Assist with vaccines and EKGs as needed.
• Maintain accurate patient records and collaborate with the healthcare team.
