Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Worcester, MA is seeking a Patient Care Technician I to join our care team. Under the direction of licensed clinicians, you will assist with daily living activities, monitor patients, and help ensure a safe, compassionate environment for our patients and families.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, current Basic Life Support, ability to communicate in English, basic computer skills, and prior patient care experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English clearly.
• Basic computer skills and comfort with basic software.
• Knowledge of medical terminology helpful.

Responsibilities

• Provides clear, timely communication to the RN regarding patient observations.
• Maintains constant observation of high-risk patients as assigned.
• Assists with daily living activities and personal hygiene.
• Assists in moving, lifting, positioning and transporting patients.
• Performs vital signs and records, measures height/weight.
• Performs EKGs, Point of Care tests and bladder scans per standards.
• Assists with treatments and prepares equipment as needed.
• Demonstrates respectful, culturally appropriate communication with patients and staff.
