University of Vermont Health Network is seeking a Patient Access Specialist at the Main Campus in Burlington, VT. This 100% onsite role handles scheduling, registration, insurance verification and financial screening to ensure a smooth patient experience.

The position requires an Associate degree or vocational training and at least one year in customer service or related healthcare fields. Strong communication and ability to manage sensitive situations are essential.

Formación

• Associates degree or vocational training in a relevant area; a combination of education and experience may be substituted.
• Minimum of one year of experience in customer service, medical billing, coding, insurance or authorization, management, scheduling or work in a health care environment.
• Ability to diffuse angry customers and handle pressure with excellent verbal communication skills.
• Experience with medical billing preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Coordinate scheduling, registration, insurance and payer eligibility management.
• Perform financial screening activities to provide a patient-friendly experience.
• Navigate multiple information systems to support patient access and hospital operations.
