Job summary

Cummins in New Hudson, MI is seeking a talented onsite Service Parts Associate to join our team. The role will be based at the New Hudson branch with regular travel to the Mount Clemens location to provide coverage and support operations as needed.

You will receive, store and dispatch parts, handle customer parts counter duties, process transactions, upsell related products, and assist with sourcing parts using various systems. Forklift experience and the ability to lift 50 pounds are required.

Qualifications

• Requires significant work experience or intermediate level of knowledge obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft applications, generating reports and ability to learn new systems required to do the job effectively.
• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to effectively communicate in a positive and professional manner, prior parts experience preferred.
• Must be able to physically lift 50 pounds occasionally, wear required personal protective equipment.
• Forklift experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive, handle, store, perform system transactions and dispatch parts in the local branch, checking for damage and discrepancies between goods and invoices.
• Carry out customer parts counter duties including handling cash/credit card transactions and assisting walk-in customers.
• Develop positive relationships with customers by communicating with them in person or by phone to upsell supporting products and services.
• Source and locate complex parts requests using various systems, catalogs and other resources to procure parts cost-effectively.
• Manage stock levels, operate forklift, ship/receive parts, and support inventory and related duties as assigned.
