Job summary

Caterpillar is seeking a Training Manager for Mapleton, IL, leading an onsite team to shape onboarding and ongoing training for about 1,200 employees across two sites. You will partner with HR leadership to design and deploy operations training, and drive continuous improvement of talent programs to meet strategic business goals.

The role requires a growth mindset, collaboration with senior leaders, and a hands-on approach to building a defect-free training culture.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of employee training and development methodologies.
• Ability to ensure target populations have the knowledge and skills for tactical and strategic objectives.
• Experience collaborating with leadership to design and deploy talent programs.
• Ability to evaluate effectiveness of talent practices and recommend improvements.
• Experience with curriculum evaluation and learning solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead training and development professionals to collaborate with Centers of Excellence.
• Act as strategic advisor to identify and prioritize training initiatives.
• Partner with facility leadership on design and deployment of operations training.
• Design, implement, and manage talent programs to develop and retain talent.
• Evaluate curriculum effectiveness and improve quality, cost, and value of programs.
