Job summary

Komatsu Mining Corp. is seeking a Field Service Technician based in Elko, NV, to perform thorough maintenance, repair, and inspection on a wide range of mining equipment.

You will diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues, replace defective parts, and conduct rigorous testing to ensure safety and uptime at customer sites. The ideal candidate has 2+ years in a technical service role, completion of an accredited apprenticeship or equivalent training, and strong knowledge of motor

Qualifications

• Minimum two years in a related technical service role.
• Completion of an accredited apprenticeship or the equivalent of at least one year of technical college in mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic systems.
• Working knowledge of motor control systems and ability to interpret schematics.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in aligning motor couplings, transfer cases, and gearboxes.
• Ability to work independently and in a team with good communication and safety focus.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, repair, servicing, and inspection on mining equipment to ensure safety and function.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues and identify root causes.
• Repair or replace defective parts at customer sites with high workmanship standards.
• Test repaired equipment to verify performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with field service teams to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Troubleshoot motor controls, circuits, and schematics on site.
• Demonstrate equipment alignments for longevity and performance.
• Maintain detailed maintenance/repair records for continuous improvement.
