Job summary

Komatsu Mining Corp. in Elko, NV is seeking a Field Service Technician to keep critical mining equipment safe, reliable, and performing at its best.

You will perform comprehensive maintenance, inspection, and repair across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems in challenging environments. You will collaborate with field service teams and customers to minimize downtime, demonstrate strong problem-solving, and grow hands-on skills in a dynamic role with on-the-job training and relocation

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in a related technical service role, preferring mining or heavy equipment.
• Completed apprenticeship or equivalent trade/technical college education in mechanical/electrical/hydraulic systems.
• Working knowledge of motor control systems and ability to read schematics for troubleshooting.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to align motor couplings, transfer cases, and gearboxes.
• Ability to work independently and in a team with good communication to diverse stakeholders.
• Commitment to safety and maintaining a safe work environment.
• Willingness to travel and operate in varied surface mining sites.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, repair, servicing, and inspection on mining equipment to ensure safety and performance.
• Diagnose issues in mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems and identify root causes.
• Repair or replace defective parts at customer sites with high workmanship standards.
• Test repaired equipment to verify performance before returning to operations.
• Collaborate with field service teams to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Apply motor controls knowledge to troubleshoot complex issues efficiently.
• Demonstrate proficiency in mechanical alignments of couplings, transfer cases, gearboxes.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance and repairs for improvement metrics.
