Job summary

Siemens Healthineers seeks a microwave and Linac engineer for onsite work in Palo Alto with 50% travel to Mountain View. You will design Linac and microwave components, review complex technical issues, and support manufacturing and field service with data-driven insights.

The role requires 3+ years in Linacs and high-power microwave systems, plus hands-on lab equipment experience and cross-disciplinary collaboration. Strong diagnostic and simulation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Physics, Microwave Engineering or similar field.
• 3+ years of experience in design, construction, implementation and maintenance of Linacs and high power microwave systems.
• Experience operating lab equipment.
• Highly motivated team player who can also work independently.
• Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to interact effectively with experts in multiple disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Linac & Microwave component design work and data collection.
• Work with other scientists and engineers to review and solve difficult technical issues.
• Serve as a technical support on Linac & microwave projects and as a resource to other related projects at Varian.
• Provide support and expertise to Manufacturing and Field Service Engineering groups.
• Coordinate resources needed to complete a task or project.
• Improve documentation, baseline data and operating and maintenance procedures.
• Provide scope, cost and schedule estimates for research and engineering projects.
