Siemens Healthineers is seeking a Microwave and Linac engineer to contribute to the RF chain for powering electron Linacs. The role is onsite in Palo Alto with 50% travel to Mountain View, collaborating in a multidisciplinary team and applying diagnostic tools like network analyzers and power meters.

You will work on design, testing, and documentation while providing estimates for scope, cost, and schedule.

Competenze

• BS/MS in Physics, Microwave Engineering or similar field.
• 3+ years of relevant experience in Linacs and high power microwave systems.
• Experience operating relevant lab equipment.

We are looking for a microwave and linear accelerator (Linac) engineer with expertise in elements of the RF chain for powering electron Linacs. The candidate should have familiarity with linear accelerators and key elements of the RF chain, such as magnetrons, klystrons and circulators. In addition, the candidate should be proficient in the use of relevant diagnostic techniques and equipment, such as network analyzers and power meters, for example, and be proficient at commercial microwave and electromagnetic beam transport simulation software, such as CST.This will be an onsite role in Palo Alto office with 50% travelling requirements to Mountain View facility.

We are looking for a team player who combines a solid technical background with a practical mindset and hands-on aptitude. Ability to collaborate effectively in a multi-disciplinary team is essential, as are strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to efficiently manage project timelines.

Responsibilities will include

• Linac & Microwavecomponent design work and data collection.
• Work with other scientists and engineers to review and solve difficult technical issues.
• Serve as a technical support onLinac & microwave projects and as a resource to other related projects at Varian.
• Provide support and expertise to Manufacturing and Field Service Engineering groups.
• Coordinate resources needed to complete a task or project.
• Improve documentation, baseline data and operating and maintenance procedures.
• Provide scope, cost and schedule estimates for research and engineering projects.

Job Requirements

• BS/MS in Physics, Microwave Engineering or similar field
• 3+ years of relevant experience in the design, construction, implementation and maintenance of Linacs and high power microwave systems
• Experience operating relevant lab equipment
• Highly motivated team player who can also work independently
• Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills
• Ability to interact effectively with experts in multiple disciplines.

The base pay range for this position is:

$111,460 - $153,252

Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

If this is a commission eligible position the commission eligibility will be in accordance with the terms of the Company’s plan. Commissions are based on individual performance and/or company performance.
