Job summary

A healthcare organization in Larkspur, CA is seeking a temporary Medical Records Assistant to coordinate with clinicians, maintain patient charts and support general medical office operations onsite. EPIC experience is highly preferred and the role starts ASAP.

This position runs Monday–Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm, with pay of $22–$25 per hour and a duration of about two months with potential extension. You will answer phones, audit charts, manage mail, enter patient records and request or assemble

Qualifications

• Prior healthcare or medical office experience is required.
• 1+ years recent administrative support experience.
• General understanding of medical terminology.
• Able to work independently; self-starter.
• EPIC experience is highly preferred.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).

Responsibilities

• Answer phones and assess needs from patients, caregivers, clinical teams and public and direct to the proper staff member.
• Audit charts by running and reviewing Epic, Excel and admission reports to accurately discharge patients.
• Collect and distribute incoming mail and facilitate outgoing mail.
• Accurately enter patient records and provide ongoing patient chart maintenance.
• Provide administrative support, including data entry.
• Request informed consent, history, and physical, lab records.
