Job summary

AMN Healthcare Language Services is seeking an On-Site InPerson Interpreter for all languages in Aurora, CO. This freelance role uses the AMN IPI App to connect interpreters with healthcare facilities and patients.

You will provide effective on-site interpreting, maintain professional appearance and punctuality, adapt to new technologies, pass screenings, and adhere to ethics. Must be eligible to work in the US and have reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• Fluent in both source and target languages with strong verbal skills.
• Extensive knowledge of ethics and standards of practice (IMIA, NBCMI, NCIHC).
• HIPAA Training for Business Associates certificate (completed within the last year)
• Proof of language proficiency via a medically based language assessment (LangStat, Reach Diversity, Language Testing Int'l)
• Accredited Medical Interpreting Training course (e.g.: ALTA, MITS, Bridging the Gap, MiTio, Cross-Cultural training, 40-hour accredited medical courses)

Responsibilities

• Provide effective onsite interpreting service for consumers.
• Always exhibit professional appearance and behavior, including punctuality and preparedness for shifts.
• Demonstrate the ability to adapt quickly to new and changing technologies.
• Pass screening before taking in-person commitments.
• Adhere to interpreter ethical standards and procedural requirements specific to interpreting context (i.e., hospitals, courts, schools, etc.).
• Respect for and understanding of LEP clients, culture, dialect and beliefs and preferences as it relates to medical procedures.
