Job summary

AMN Healthcare Language Services seeks professional in-person interpreters to facilitate on-site communication in medical settings across diverse languages. This freelance position offers flexible sessions through the AMN InPerson Interpreting app and access to numerous daily sessions with healthcare facilities nationwide.

Qualified candidates will have medical interpreting credentials, HIPAA training, and demonstrated ethics knowledge.

Qualifications

• Fluent in both source and target languages with strong verbal skills.
• Knowledge of IMIA, NBCMI and NCIHC ethics standards.
• HIPAA training completed within the last year.
• Proof of language proficiency via medical assessments and accredited training.

Responsibilities

• Provide effective on-site interpreting for patients in medical settings.
• Maintain professional appearance and punctuality for shifts.
• Demonstrate ability to adapt to new technologies quickly.
• Pass screening prior to taking in-person commitments.
• Adhere to interpreter ethics and procedural requirements.
• Respect LEP clients’ culture, dialect and preferences in procedures.
• Deliver excellent customer service and accuracy in interpretation.
