The InPerson Interpreting (IPI) app connects you to sessions with facilities that have AMN contracts, offering flexible scheduling and an opportunity to expand your interpreting business.

As a qualified interpreter, you will maintain professional standards, adapt to changing technology, pass screenings, and serve LEP clients with cultural sensitivity.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English with strong verbal communication in source/target language.
• Knowledge of ethics and standards for medical interpreting (IMIA, NBCMI, NCIHC).
• HIPAA training for Business Associates within the last year.
• Proof of language proficiency via medical assessment (LangStat, Reach Diversity, Language Testing Intl).
• Accredited medical interpreting training courses (e.g., ALTA, MITS, Bridging the Gap, MiTio).

Responsibilities

• Provide effective on-site interpreting service for patients.
• Maintain professional appearance, punctuality, and shift preparedness.
• Adapt quickly to new technologies.
• Pass screening before taking on in-person commitments.
• Adhere to interpreter ethical standards and context-specific procedures.
• Respect LEP clients, culture, dialect and medical preferences.
• Demonstrate strong customer service and interpreting skills.
