Job summary

University of Chicago Medicine in Chicago's Hyde Park campus is seeking a Medical Assistant to support the Medical Oncology clinic. This 100% onsite role partners with RNs, APPs, and physicians to keep patient flow smooth and care patient-centered.

The MA will perform phlebotomy, record vital signs, assist with education, and document care per policy; requires strong organization and ability to work in a fast-paced ambulatory setting. Weekday schedule, no on-call.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current CPR certification.
• Phlebotomy experience required.
• Experience in a community health setting.
• Graduate of a CMA program recognized by AHA/Red Cross.
• CMA credential obtained.

Responsibilities

• Know and practice Pride Values and Patient Centered Care Principles.
• Perform direct patient care as assigned by RN/physician within Nursing policies.
• Implement and document patient and family education as delegated.
• Obtain and record vital signs.
• Perform tests such as pregnancy tests, urinalysis, and others relevant to patient population.
• Document all patient care per hospital policies.
• Perform phlebotomy services.
• Assist with specimen collection and logging per standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
