Job summary

BE&K Building Group seeks a Mechanical Superintendent to lead on-site activities, manage field personnel, and ensure safety, quality, and schedule adherence on complex Bloomington, IN projects. This role requires strong collaboration with owners, architects, and trade partners and a focus on cost-effective problem solving.

You will drive pre-construction milestones, monitor progress, and report to the Project Manager, while supervising subcontractors and maintaining project documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering (not required).
• 8 to 12 years of experience on mechanical construction projects.
• Excellent team development skills and leadership abilities.
• Strong ability to partner with the Project Manager and staff.
• Effective communication skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day job site activities and OSHA safety compliance.
• Direct field personnel according to the project plan.
• Communicate progress and issues daily to the Project Manager.
• Update schedules and ensure work aligns with contract requirements.
• Manage subcontractor performance and site logistics.
• Lead safety meetings and ensure project documentation is current.
• Coordinate project turnover, pre-mobilization, and closeout activities.
