Job summary

BE&K Building Group seeks an Electrical Superintendent to provide overall direction on projects, build strong owner/architect relationships, and ensure safety, quality, and schedule compliance. This onsite role requires travel and close coordination with the Project Manager and trade partners.

You will manage day-to-day field activities, scheduling, safety programs, and QA/QC, while supporting startup, turnover, and closeout phases across electrical scopes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering (not required).
• 8–12 years of experience on construction projects with electrical focus.
• Excellent leadership and team development abilities.
• Strong communication skills across owners, architects, and field teams.
• Ability to partner with Project Manager and staff to resolve issues.

Responsibilities

• Oversee, manage, and document all day-to-day job site activities including OSHA safety compliance.
• Direct field personnel according to the project plan.
• Communicate issues, events, and progress daily to the Project Manager.
• Report problems promptly to facilitate cost-effective solutions.
• Establish relationships with Clients, BE&K team members, and subcontractors.
• Consult with General Superintendent/Project Executive on materials, sequencing, scheduling, logistics.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Lead project startup/turnover meetings and develop startup schedules for review.
• Assist in formulating and implementing construction schedules and baselines.
• Maintain the schedule to meet or exceed client expectations, update monthly.
• Ensure subcontractors follow safety plans and maintain MSD sheets and insurance.
• Verify benchmarks and inspections align with baseline schedule.
• Manage subcontractor pre-construction, site office, documentation, and progress reporting.
• Attend/lead safety, coordination, and weekly/monthly meetings.
• Oversee project closeout, transfer of utilities, and training.
