Job summary

BE&K Building Group in Bloomington, IN, is seeking a capable field/ project engineer to support on-site team with document control, layout verification, and safety oversight.

You will coordinate with subcontractors, monitor progress, prepare reports, and mentor junior engineers while upholding BE&K's quality and safety standards.

Strong communication and organization are essential; a degree in construction management or engineering is preferred.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in related construction fields.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering is ideal but not mandatory.
• Self-motivated with strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and distribute construction documents to the project team.
• Manage layout and verify field dimensions.
• Verify subcontractor layout for line and grade.
• Support the BE&K Quality Management Program and inspections.
• Monitor on-site progress for contract compliance.
• Document daily construction activity with reports and photos.
• Create and share daily/weekly work plans and schedules.
• Attend meetings with customers and provide updates.
• Compile permits, testing, and inspections for project completion.
• Assist in BE&K Safety Program administration.
• Supervise and mentor Field Engineers.
• Communicate safety expectations to project teams.
