Job summary

Jobot is seeking a dynamic Mechanical Superintendent to lead field operations on complex commercial and industrial projects in Indianapolis. You will manage craft personnel, ensure safety compliance, and keep projects on schedule and within budget.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in a similar role, deep OSHA knowledge, strong leadership and communication skills, and the ability to mentor a diverse crew while enforcing company policies and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role.
• Strong leadership and team-building skills.
• Advanced knowledge and understanding of OSHA safety regulations.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage differences and diversity in the workplace.
• Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve problems.
• Advanced understanding of construction scheduling and cost control.
• Ability to handle administrative duties of the position.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to remain diplomatic and calm under pressure.
• OSHA-30 certification (if not currently certified, must be obtained within six months from date of hire).

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and coordinate craft personnel for field construction and maintenance.
• Ensure adherence to company, department, and technical policies and procedures.
• Assess crew skills and provide coaching and mentoring as necessary.
• Promote a positive and inclusive work environment.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve problems before they escalate.
• Handle required paperwork and administrative duties.
• Use time management to complete projects on time and within budget.
• Maintain attention to detail and stay diplomatic under pressure.
• Ensure adherence to OSHA and company safety policies.
